John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston should feel her head; obviously she is not thinking clearly if reports about her trying to get back together with John Mayer for a third shot on the merry-go-round of romance. It seems that Jen has been getting a bit drunk tipsy in the evenings and dialing John’s number.

A blabbermouth from Jen’s new flick, The Baster, shared this: “(Mayer) wasn’t calling her or texting her. But, as she got lonelier and the shoot for her new movie wore on, she started reaching out to him, sometimes very late at night.  And sometimes after a few too many glasses of wine.”

Jennifer’s friends, including Courteney Cox Arquette, have told her to let the whole Mayer thing remain ancient history, but Jen isn’t listening.

Let this be a lesson to everyone out there: Don’t drink and phone. Nuff said.

Did anyone really expect the Jennifer Aniston-John Mayer romance to last? It’s over. Again. The couple split up after Jen returned from a European trip to promote the film, “Marley and Me”.

Jennifer shared her thoughts about relationships in a recent interview, which seem to indicate that she has been waiting for the other shoe to drop with John: “Whoever said that every relationship has to last forever?” she told the U.K.’s Mail on Sunday’s You magazine. “That’s hoping for too much.”

After a turbulent year, Britney Spears is back on top….of USA Today’s Celebrity Heat Index. Britney was exposed, so to speak, more than anyone else in the media for 11 weeks. Angelina Jolie came in at No. 2, Jennifer Aniston was third, and Brad Pitt was in fourth place.

Readers wanted to see more stories about Reese Witherspoon and Patrick Swayze, while Paris Hilton and Anna Nicole Smith dropped out of the Top 10.

Jennifer Aniston’s latest flick, “Marley and Me” opened Christmas Day, to some very impressive numbers. With $14.75 in ticket sales, the film beat the former record holder for a December 25th release, “Ali,” which had done $10.2 million at the box office on opening day.

Former husband Brad Pitt’s film, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” came in at No. 2 with $11.8 million in sales. “Bedtime Stories,” starring Adam Sandler was No. 3, with $10.4 million in sales. Guess people are still willing to spend money at the movies, even during a recession.

After Jennifer Aniston made a few comments about Angelina Jolie stealing then-hubby Brad Pitt in Vogue and on Oprah’s show, Angie has given Jen a shot across the bow. Apparently Ange was shocked to find out that Jennifer hadn’t moved on in that oh-so-civilized way that she should have. Huh.

Sources say that Angelina was completely thrown by Jennifer’s comments and said that she didn’t think Jennifer would want to “re-open that old wound.” Methinks Angelina is a bit naive to think that….

Is love better the second time around for Jennifer Aniston and John Meyer, or is their recent hookup an example of “friends with benefits”? Time will tell, but the twosome have been thisclose again lately.

Maybe John had some time in his schedule and was willing to throw Jen a bone, so to speak.

The five-minute romance between John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston is no more. John wasn’t ready to settle down and Jennifer was. The UK tab Daily Mirror quoted a source close to Mayer as saying:

They initially opted for a break, hoping a trial split might make them stronger. Sadly it doesn’t seem to have worked.

John took the decision to end things as he felt he just wasn’t ready for the level of commitment that Jennifer deserved. Contrary to reports, Jenn didn’t want to have kids or marry this year, but she did want to set a timetable for their future.

Jennifer was furious when he told her of his decision but now she’s simply sad – not to mention a little heartbroken.

I bet she was mad as hell. Jen is getting close to 40, and I bet her biological time clock is ticking so loud in her head that she is afraid it’s going to explode. Better to find someone who is on the same page as you than to try to make someone commit who just isn’t ready.

Jennifer Aniston should listen to her dog, because critters seem to have a really good handle on who the good people are. It seems that Jen’s pooch,  Norman, can’t stand the dude.

Norman, who is a Corgi-Terrier cross, sounds like he has his head screwed on straight. Too bad his mistress wouldn’t pay attention. It might save her some heartbreak later on.
