The Hollywood Reporter is saying that Cher has signed on to star with Johnny Knoxville in “The Drop Out.” Knoxville, of Jackass fame, will play Cher’s love interest in the film.

The flick is being directed and written by Ricky Blitt, who we can blame for bringing “The Ringer” to the silver screen. In his latest venture, Knoxville will be playing a 35-year-old man whose parents have finally woken up and kicked him out of the house. Since straightening up and finding work would be waaayyy too complicated, he decides to be real nice to the hot 65-year-old who happens to live next door.

Cher has described the part as, “something you wait for your whole life — and it just happened to come now when I’m the perfect age for it.”

Cher is in talks with Batman director Christopher Nolan to play the role of Catwoman in the next installment of the popular series of films. The studio is looking for someone who is the “absolute opposite” of Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer’s treatment of the character.

If that’s the case, then Cher is an interesting choice. The 62-year-old singer/actress will bring a unique perspective to the role.
