In what has to be the dumbest honeymoon ever, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are holed up in someone’s basement. No, really. They did so to get the media off their back because they didn’t want cameras on their honeymoon.

Says Pete, “We’re in the basement of the house. We wanted everybody to think we were going on a honeymoon… We’ve got some blow-up palm trees down here… a little fake and bake tanning booth. It’s gonna look like we went on a private jet somewhere and we’re gonna save that $30,000. We’re eating DiGiorno’s pizza, getting into that tanning bed every once in a while, it’s great.”

Great my ass. That is the dumbest, cheapest idea I’ve ever heard. Who wants to honeymoon in a basement? This couple even honeymoons boring.

Serial bride, Loni Anderson, claims to have found true love this time. Fifteen years after divorcing Bert Reynolds she married her high school sweetheart, folk singer Bob Flick. The pair met in 1960 in Minneapolis where she posed with his folk group as “a lucky fan.”

Loni was given away by her son, Quinton Reynolds and her granddaughters acted as attendants.

I’ll tell you what, for 62 years old Loni is looking amazing. Congratulations to the happy couple.

“We’re delighted to confirm that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson were married this evening in front of family and close friends,” a family spokesperson told People.

If you watch Ellen today, pay good attention or you’ll miss her big announcement. Ellen surprised her audience by telling them she was getting married. Portia was in the audience and the pair receive a big standing ovation.

As soon as we get the video we’ll bring it to you, but the announcement came after Ellen mentioned California Supreme Court Ruling against gay marriage. Nothing like getting married for politics!

I have to hand it to Beyonce and Jay-Z. They wanted to keep details preceding their wedding private and they pulled it off. Oh sure, we did know they filed for a marriage license last week, but the speculation was that the wedding would be in May when Jay-Z finished touring. Kudos to the happy couple for not turning this into a paparazzi circus.
