Don’t mind my back

We’re sure someone in rapper Kanye West’s camp got a hold of the performer and slapped him silly over his self-absorbed tirade last night at the MTV Video Music Awards.

He’s “SOOOOO SORRY” for dissing country singer Taylor Swift by interrupting her acceptance speech for Best Female Video, he said on his Web site last night. 

“I’m in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment,” he wrote. “Beyonce’s video was the best of this decade . . . I’m sorry to my fans if I let you guys down . . . I’m sorry to my friends at MTV . . . I will apologize to Taylor.” 

C’mon, doesn’t Dude sound like he was taken to the woodshed? And still, he disses Taylor Swift’s winning video.

Hours before he posted his apology on his Web site (classy!), West had stormed the stage and wrestled the microphone from the 19-year-old winner: “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’m a [sic] let you finish, but Beyond had one of the best videos of all time,” he ranted.

Cue boos from the audience.

Beyonce, meanwhile, was in the audience and stunned at the diatribe. Later when B was accepting an award, she brought Taylor onstage so she could give her speech uninterrupted. 

After the rant, Pink was escorted away when she walked over to West to give him a piece of her mind. She tweeted “Kanye west is the biggest piece of s*** on earth. Quote me.”

OK.

Initially, Swift was psyched that the rapper had joined her on stage, she said after the incident. 

“And then I wasn’t so excited anymore after that,” she said. Still, the classy Swift said she holds no ill will toward West and his asshole behavior. But one observer backstage, Neil Armstrong, Jay-Z’s DJ, NOT the astronaut, tweeted that Swift was seen crying backstage with her mom.

But, she got over it with a lil’ help from Beyonce and others.

“I’ve been getting so many text messages and everybody’s been really nice. So I’ve had a really, really fun night. It’s been interesting definitely. It’s definitely been an interesting night.”

• Rosie O’Donnell – Is shape shifting, but unfortunately she still hasn’t located her shift key. Her blog still hurts my eyes.
• Margaret Cho – Loves California.
• Harry Shearer – Asks, “Who are we to lecture the Burmese?”
• Jamie Oliver – Gives props to a good friend.
• Roseanne is afraid of Barrack Obama. We’re sure the feelings are mutual.

• Bill Maher – Sharing a video starring…why, Bill Maher. Isn’t he so clever and funny?
• Rosie O’Donnell – Her shift key still stuck, Rosie takes her time in telling us she’ll have her face forever.
• Moby – He’s one of the judges for the “Obama in 30 Seconds” contest.
• Tom Green – Took a day trip to Death Valley. Even took video.
• Kanye West – Showing the trailer for an upcoming Pixar movie “Wall-E”. My son and I saw this trailer when we went to see Horton the other day and it looked very cool.

Celebrities do love their bandwagons. If there’s a trend to follow you can bet there are a variety of famous faces all in a row. ..even with blogging. Here’s what the celebrities are blogging about today:

• Brian Williams is living his dream by appearing on Sesame Street. Way to aspire, Brian!
• Trent Reznor is engaging in a little shameless self promotion as he’s offering up NINs list of tour dates. He really doesn’t have much else to say though.
• Valerie Bertinelli’s blog at Jenny Craig book talks about what else? Yep. Her book. She’s doing a book signing. Yawn.
• Tommy LaSorda is blogging about Brad Penny who, I guess, plays baseball. I’m sure if I cared about sports I’d know this stuff. Anyway, this Brad Penny person will be starting on opening day. That means pitching for all of the other baseball challenged individuals.
• M.C. Hammer has a cool video to share with us today. I think he misses dancing.
• Roseanne wants you to boycott the Olympics.
• Kanye West is offering up a whole bunch of cool stuff. I wasn’t sure I’d like Kanye’s blog, but it’s a lot better than most.
• Rosie O’Donnell answers our prayers and shuts down her upper cased challenged, whiny-ass blog. Too bad it’s only for 24 hours.
• Moby - Just got back from Miami. His shift key is broke too.
• Meredith Viera had a heck of a vacation. Why, she saw a limping deer!
• Mark Cuban is blogging about bloggers in the locker room. More sports. I liked him better when he danced with the stars.

• Steven Weber – I’m actually digging Steven Weber’s blog posts. I find him to be a good writer and very amusing. Today he’s talking about finding Reverend Wright’s sermon on YouTube and offering his thoughts after watching it, but mostly he’s talking about how information is disseminated today. Good stuff.
• Rosie O’Donnell – Going on about something. Her blog hurts my eyes. I think she’s trying to be arty and profound.
• Wil Wheaton – Another of my favorite celebrity bloggers. Today he shows a beautiful, award winning photograph taken by his brother. His pride is evident.
• John Mayer is self-conscious. And wears a lot of jeans.
• Adrianne Curry believes in God. Maybe.
• Anderson Cooper gives you a rundown of today’s top stories which probably isn’ t really a blog as much as it is a recap. But whatever.
• Brian Williams used a fork today.
• Jason Mraz is in Korea where Engrish is a second language. And he hearts it.

Welcome to another edition of “What the Celebrities are Blogging About Today.” Let’s see if any of our favorite famous people have anything to say…

• Wil Wheaton is professing his love for Magnatune.
• Mark Cuban gets lots of email.
• Rosie O’Donnell is talking about the war again, but here’s the kicker. She’s actually using upper AND lower case letters and punctuation too. Must have a guest blogger today.
• Martina Navratilova is receiving some bad publicity regarding her dual citizenship.
• Harry Shearer is concerned about affordable housing in New Orleans.
• Moby is sick to his stomach. Did he eat Taco Bell? No. He’s reading about Dick Cheney.
• Dave Navarro has a few tour dates coming up.
• Margaret Cho is apologizing to herself for calling herself chubby. This is me rolling my eyes.

Believe it or not, some celebrities are home in front of their computers instead of shopping, clubbing or leaving the home without their drawers. Here’s what the celebrities are blogging about today:

Bill Maher – Just as you knew he would, Bill Maher is blogging about the possibility of a 100 year war with Iraq.

Margaret Cho – Margaret Cho is talking about the Pope’s list of brand new sins…and offering up some of her own. I’d like to add some too, specifically paying by check at the supermarket and men wearing pants so low you see crack.  It’s just not a good look. Oh and more than one Britney story on any given day.

Donald Trump wants you to know what you owe your kids. And it aint a starring spot on your reality TV show.

Kanye West shares with you the most expensive remote controlled car. I’ll tell you what, I kind of like Kanye’s blog. He shares some very cool images and ideas.

Thomas Dolby is offering a travel tip and tells a tale of a hotel room that’s too good to be true.

Tom Green talks about an enjoyable Snoop performance.

As blogging gains in popularity, some very famous names are opening MySpace or Blogspot account and jumping on the bandwagon. Some of the blogs are kinda spammy and only list tour dates or personal appearances. We won’t feature those here. Other blogs are surprisingly insightful, funny or just interesting. Each day, News from the Glamorati will offer a look at what the celebrities are blogging about.

Shall we…?

Mark Cuban – I’m not a Mavericks fan but Mark Cuban remains one of my favorite bloggers because he’s honest and funny. I don’t always agree with him but he’s generally a good read. Today he’s going off about the Washington Post’s Leonard Shapiro and his lack of education in the mixed martial arts.

Roseanne – Roseanne likes to go off on her blog about her views on various topics and today she’s dicussing Obama, or rather Reverend Wright and racism. Not sure really. Rosie, friend don’t let friends blog drunk.

Wil Wheaton – Wil Wheaton is a very successful bloggers with thousands of subscribers. Today there are four things he’d like to mention…

Kanye West wants to use his cell phone as a boarding pass. Me too.

Rosie O’Donnell – Rosie O’Donnell’s blog usually hurts my eyes and I avoid it like the plague. I can’t stand it when bloggers omit punctuation or upper and lower case letters because they feel it makes a point or it’s cool or gives them their own sense of style. They’re lazy is what they are. Any way, Rosie wrote another poem, or whatever it is she calls her unorganized thoughts, about the war in Iraq. Not knocking the subject, just the blogger.

Jorge Garcia from “Lost” has a great blog. Today he tells us about his Mighty Mo. No really.

Steven Weber is professing his love for Barrack Obama at “The Huffington Post”.

Julia Sweeney loves Obama too.
