Reports are circulating that Avril Lavigne’s hubby of the last couple of years, Deryck Whibley of Sum 41 fame, has been behaving more like a bachelor than in a manner considered appropriate for a married dude. While Avril has been busy out on tour, Deryck has been getting busy in a different way – partying and making out in public with another woman.

Apparently, Deryck has lost his motivation in his own career, so he’s compensating for it in other ways. Very mature. Especially if he thought no one would notice, given that his missus is a rock star and all, and he is supposed to be one.

Avril Lavigne may need to make other plans for the start of her Asian tour. The grammy-nominated singer was planning to perform for fans in Lumpur but is getting a smack down from the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party – the Youth wing, no less! It seems Avril “promotes negative values.”

A spokesman for the Party goes on to say: We don’t want our people, our teenagers, influenced by their performance. We want clean artists, artists that are good role models.”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t being a lousy role model part of the job description for a rock star? Just askin’.
