Michael Jackson Took Aim at Family in Taped Conversations

Michael Jackson had plenty to say about his siblings and his mother when he was recording material for his 1988 autobiography – and most of it wasn’t good.

Michael slammed his brother Tito for being “boring” and Jermaine was branded as a “womanizer.” Marlon and Jackie would just sit around and moan, while Michael was using that time to “watch and learn.” The tapes were made when Michael was working on Moonwalk but his thoughts were never included in the book.

News of the World has the tapes, which include Jackson saying, “The brothers didn’t give me support. We’d be working on a TV show or video and they’d be sitting around moaning and groaning but I’d be watching and learning. It takes a talent, but some people are lazy and don’t want to develop anything.”

Michael also had strong opinions about his sisters. He describes LaToya as being “Mrs Nice and Nasty.” (We’re not surprised at that one.) When Janet married James DeBarge in 1984, Michael felt lost: “”It kills me to see her off and married. We did everything together and were just alike. It’s a terrible loss.” (She got married; it’s not like she died or something.)
