Happy National Teen Pregnancy Awareness Day from Hayden Panettiere and Bristol Palin. We are aware of the fact that Bristol is 18 and the mother of a four-month-old. The choice of Ms. Palin to become an ambassador for the Candie’s Foundation, which is working to prevent teen pregnancy, is a bit confusing.
On the one hand Bristol has been oh-so-careful to tell all and sundry that her son, Tripp, was not a mistake, but….that teen girls should practice abstinence. I suppose that Bristol learned the hard way that crossing your legs is a lot more effective than just crossing your fingers and hoping you won’t get pregnant, but you would think the message would have credibility coming from a young lady who actually practices abstinence, non?
