Insurance Company Refusing to Pay Out on Heath Ledger’s Insurance Policy

Heath Ledger and daughter Matilda
The insurance company holding Heath Ledger’s insurance policy is dragging its feet on paying out on the late actor’s $10 million policy. The beneficiary is his daughter, Matilda.
Apparently, ReliaStar Life Insurance Co. wants to take the time to determine whether Ledger committed suicide before getting out the check book. Lawyers for Matilda have accused the company of dragging its feet and that there is no evidence that Ledger took his own life.
Insurance companies are always more than willing to take your premium payments, but when it comes time to pay up it’s a different story, isn’t it?
