25 Celebrities with Insured Bodyparts

What’s a limb worth? Well, if it’s yours or mine, probably nothing. If it belongs to a celebrity it might be worth millions. Many celebrities with “notable” body parts insure them just in case they lose a leg or a boob in an accident.

What makes me laugh is most of these people are millionaires several times over. So someone loses a breast or a finger, it’s not like they’ll have to stand on the welfare line any time soon. If one of Dolly Parton’s breasts explode, will that $600,000 really make much of a difference? And if Bruce Springsteen loses his voice, will a few  million make it all better? No, they’ll retire, write books about their ordeals and appear on Oprah. It’s all good.

Oh and contrary to popular reports, Jennifer Lopez didn’t insure her butt.

 

1. David Beckham - His legs are insured for $70 million.
2. Dolly Parton - Insured her breasts for $600,000.
3. Fred Astaire -Insured his legs for $150,000 - that’s $75,000 each.
4. Bette Davis - Her waistline was insured for $28,000 - a tidy sum back in the day.
5. Jamie Lee Curtis - Insured her legs for $2 million.
6. Rod Stewart - His voice is insured for $6 million.
7. Bruce Springsteen - His voice is insured for $6 million.
8. Angie Dickinson - Insured her legs for $1 million.
9. America Ferrer - Insured her smile for $10 million.
10. Mariah Carey - Insured her legs for a billion. That’s a lot of bendy straws. I’m surprised though, that she insured her legs and not her voice.
11. Keith Richards - Insured his hands for $2 million.
12. Rhianna - Insured her legs for $1 million.
13. Tom Jones - His chest hair is insured for $7 million. Ok now that’s just sick.
14. Jimmy Durante - Insured his nose for $50,000.
15. Michael Flatley - Insured his dancing feet for $39 million.
16. Heidi Klum - Her legs are insured for $2.2 million.
17. Tina Turner - Her legs are insured for $3.2 million.
18. Ken Dodd - His teeth are insured for $7.4 million.
19. Betty Grable - Insured her legs for $1 million.
20. Marlene Dietrich - Took out a $1 million policy in case she lost her voice.
21. David Lee Roth - Took out a million dollar policy against his sperm. No. Really. The insurance was just in case Roth fathered a child and a paternity suit ensured.
22. Mary Hart - Insured her legs for $1 million.
23. Merv Hughes - A cricket player with a long trademark mustache, he had his whiskers insured for $317,000.
24. Egon Ronay - The world-renown food critic insured his taste buds for $400,000.
25. Brooke Shields - Her legs are insured for an undisclosed amount.
