Greeness is at the height of trendiness. Celebrities everywhere are driving hybrids and reusing their shopping bags in an attempt to show the world they’re green, at least when they’re in the public eye.
Some celebrities think the bandwagon is a little too crowded and aren’t into the ride. Who are Glamorati’s least green celebrities? Read on…
- John Travolta – Flies his jets and airliners every where he needs to go. As a matter of fact, Johns home has access to a runway so he doesn’t have to deal with things like airports and baggage check ins. John doesn’t care how much he pollutes the airwaves, as long as he gets to fly.
- Barbra Streisand – We hear tell she spends over $20,000 a year to keep her lawn looking nice and green..and that’s for one home. Babs owns five. Not only that, but her 12,000 square foot barn is air conditioned. We think she’s wasteful and looks bad no matter what side her face is photographed.
- Madonna - The material girl may claim she’s all about climate change and the environment but by employing private jets and spending over $100,000 on bottled water each year we think she’s full of crap.
- Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – Again with the hypocrisy. We know Brad’s into this whole green New Orleans thing, but do they never fly commercial. They take dozens of private jets throughout the year to schlep their kids all around the world. Their carbon foot prints reach to the moon and beyond.
- Simon Cowell – Owns a fleet of environmentally unfriendly cars including a Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari F430 and Rolls Royce Phantom.
- Victoria & David Beckham – David Beckham spends so much time flying and driving environmentally unfriendly cars it’s speculated he has the largest carbon footprint on the planet and puts out a staggering 163 tons of carbon dioxide a year. Add to that his wife’s travels…and well…its just not pretty at all.
- Arnold Schwarzenegger – Made a big show of getting rid of his Hummers, yet commutes 380 miles by jet every day to get to work. People elected this man to lead their state?
- 50 Cent – On the list of biggest celebrity polluters thanks to his cars, and H2 and a Rolls Royce Phantom.
- Mariah Carey – Flies her celebrity trainer in every day from St. Barts to New York City for her morning workout. There are no trainers in Manhattan, Mariah?
- Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise- Jets around the world for shopping sprees and fashion shows. In fact, she uses Tom’s jet at least once a month to replenish her wardrobe. Goodness, we wouldn’t want to wear last month’s jeans…

Some of the actions posted are just plain silly (like Arnold and his daily commute) but nothing can really be said about people with fast cars….. I mean Simon Cowell is a driving enthusiast. He was the fastest around the top gear test track (twice) and has said many times that he wished he could go back in time a become a race car driver. I can kind of see what you mean about the Veyron and the F430 just because you cant really use a car that powerful anywhere in the world. But show me a car that is smooth as a rolls and has a 4-pot in it and I would tattoo your name on my forehead, hell half of the econobox’s on the market today don’t even have leather as an option……..
Can I just say- who cares? Like I am gonna do anything just because a celebrity does it.

Well, im a republican so I naturally want the air to be bad and I throw Mt Dew bottles out my window. *rolling eyes*
I think its something like 97% of the carbon footprint is made by the earth itself so get over your SUV footprints people. Ugh.

They are all “above” us little people, so why should they care? They want us all to die, so just they, “the elightened”, are left. Then MAYBE they’lll have to WORK for a living
This issue is full of crap, why do you blame them for traveling on a jets or airliners. How do you want them to travel by a hybrid car on a 40,000 mile trip? How about you do you travel? Do you ride plane when you travel? Say no and i will call you hypocrite.
this is what i have to say i dont care if u ride private jets and ride fancy cars that heart the environment what bothers me is…hypocrisy dont say ur environmental friendly when ur not if u reuse ur shopping bag but fly ur private jet everyweekend um…. then ur not helping assholes so dont say u are
